Radiohead kick off Trade Justice lobbyThom Yorke and Ed O'Brien of Radiohead held a press event to help launch the Trade Justice Movement outside the Houses of Parliament. Media demand for interviews led to this event overrunning by almost an hour. Amongst those conducting interviews were BBC News, Carlton, CNN, BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat, BBC Radio 4 PM, Xfm, Sky News, BBC Liquid News and BBC on-line. Ed O'Brien from the band said: "I hope a lot of people turn up and make a lot of noise and lobby a lot of MPs. We've heard messages of support from Patricia Hewitt and Tony Blair. Today should give them a mandate to take forward to the EU summit, G8 and World Summit for Sustainable Development to place trade relations high on the agenda. Today is a good time to be lobbying MPs." As the media event progressed, streets around Parliament became flooded with a sea of colour as supporters began arriving to join the lobby. Thom and Ed said they were very encouraged by the mass turnout as they struggled to return to the Methodist Central Hall.
